SAVE THE DATE: Unlocking History – A Journey Through Coin Collecting

The Natchitoches Parish Library (NPL) invites you to “Beginning Coin Collecting,” a special presentation on the fascinating world of numismatics (the study or collection of currency). Led by longtime coin enthusiasts Joe Darby and Adam Edwards, this engaging program will feature a PowerPoint presentation showcasing unique and historic coins. Attendees will learn about unusual early U.S. coins, including a two-cent coin, as well as pieces issued by famous historical figures such as Napoleon, Henry VIII, and St. Louis, King of France.

In addition to exploring the rich history of these coins, participants will learn how to identify rare and valuable coins and discover ways to begin a coin-collecting hobby that fits any budget. Whether you are a seasoned collector or simply curious, this program offers valuable insight into the world of numismatics.
