The Natchitoches community is coming together to support autism awareness at the annual Walk 4 Autism, scheduled for Saturday, April 19 at Natchitoches City Park.

Organized under the theme “Voices 4 Autism: The Best Walk on Earth — We’ll Get There Together!”, the event promises a day filled with community spirit, support for individuals with autism, and family-friendly fun. The walk will be held at the park’s big parking lot, located at 300 Amulet St. in Natchitoches.

Registration will be conducted the morning of the event, with no early sign-ups available. Walkers can begin registering from 7-9 a.m., and the walk itself will begin at 10 a.m.

Participation is open to individuals and teams:

Adults: $20 registration fee
Teams: $25 registration fee
Children aged 1–16: FREE
Each registrant will receive a T-shirt, available while supplies last.

In addition to the walk, the event will feature:

  • A Sensory Easter Egg Hunt, providing an inclusive and enjoyable experience for children of all sensory needs

Local organizer Leia Harvey is spearheading the event and encourages the community to show up and show their support. She can be reached at 318-529-0638 for further details or inquiries.

The Walk 4 Autism is more than just a walk — it’s a movement to raise awareness, foster inclusivity, and support individuals and families affected by autism. Community members are invited to lace up their shoes, bring their families, and walk together toward a more understanding and inclusive future.
