Goldonna News: Crawfish Boil, LA Trails

By Reba Phelps

One of the most cherished community events for the Village of Goldonna will always be the Christmas in the Park Festival held every December.

This year the festival will celebrate 31 years of celebrating the holiday season. Every year it continues to grow larger with more support from surrounding Parishes. One of the unique qualities of this festival is that most all activities are free of charge. There are no wrist bands needed to attend. It is free and open to the public.

To raise money to help cover expenses associated with the Festival, there are normally a few fundraisers held during the year. The Christmas in the Park Committee will host a Crawfish Boil on Saturday, April 26 at 5 at the Town Hall Pavilion. For a $20 donation you can enjoy three pounds of crawfish, two potatoes, corn and sauce. Or, you can purchase a plate with five pounds of crawfish, two potatoes, two corn and sauce for $25.

You will be able to dine in or carry out. The committee is encouraging pre-orders so they will be prepared with an ample supply of crawfish and sides.

If you would like to purchase a ticket contact the following:

Gayle Cloud 318-471-9559
Eugean Garner 318-533-5044

The Louisiana Trails is accepting new members and donations for the organization. The organization accepts ATV riders, biking, bird watchers, hikers, horseback riding, and mule or horse drawn wagons. A three day membership pass costs $15, a one year membership costs $35 and a lifetime membership costs $200. If you are interested in a membership contact Timmy Harris at 318-481-7191.
