Sarah Boyd Wells died in Alexandria, Louisiana on January 23, 2025, at the age of 78.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom H. Wells & Carolyn McConnell Wells. The second oldest of six children, she’s left an abundance of memories with Lucy Wells Tierney, Tom (Mary) Wells, Chris (Brenda) Wells, Julia (Guy) Nesom, Peter (Jill) Wells, and a host of wonderful, grand, and great grand nephews and nieces. Her tenacious spirit lives on through her cat, BiBi.
Like her smile, Sarah’s life was hardly dull. The daughter of wartime Naval officers, she was raised in many different cities across the United States and abroad. After graduating from LSU, her desire to experience more led her to a variety of careers in New York and Louisiana, ultimately retiring in Florida for several years. Her move back to Louisiana in 2024 granted her many happy opportunities to visit with family- and she seized those opportunities with great enthusiasm.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 24 at 11:00am at Trinity Episcopal Church in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Arc- Rapides or Trinity Episcopal Church in Natchitoches.
