Sheriff’s Office Communications Director Laquita Collins installed as 2025 President of LA APCO

The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce that Laquita Collins, Director of Communications, has been installed as the 2025 President of the Louisiana Chapter of the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (LA APCO).

The installation took place this week during the LA APCO Symposium held in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The annual event brings together professionals from across the state to discuss best practices, share innovations, and collaborate on the future of public safety communications.

Collins has served in public safety communications for almost 25-years, bringing a wealth of experience and a steadfast commitment to the field. Her dedication has not only enhanced emergency communications in Natchitoches Parish but has also contributed significantly to public safety efforts statewide.

“We are incredibly proud of Director Collins and this well-deserved recognition,” said Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Stuart Wright. “Her leadership in public safety communications is an asset to our parish and now, to the entire state of Louisiana.”

As LA APCO President, Collins will help lead initiatives focused on improving emergency communications infrastructure, supporting 9-1-1 professionals, and advancing legislative priorities that impact public safety communications across Louisiana.

Also attending the event were Major J. Taitano, Natchitoches Communications District 911 Director Kim Tolliver, and Director Collins husband, Natchitoches Police Chief N. Collins.
