Natchitoches Parish 4-H named Conservation Youth Organization of the Year

Natchitoches Parish 4-H has been recognized as the Louisiana Wildlife Federation’s 2024 Conservation Youth Organization of the Year, a testament to the group’s outstanding efforts in promoting environmental stewardship among young people.

This year, Natchitoches Parish 4-H launched its “Natchitoches Parish 4-H Celebrates Conservation” program, which reached approximately 500 students directly and nearly 2,500 students indirectly across the parish. Through educational initiatives and hands-on activities, the program worked to instill the values of conservation and responsible recreation in the next generation.

The Louisiana Wildlife Federation (LWF), which was established in 1940, is a statewide conservation education and advocacy organization representing more than 12,000 members and 24 affiliate groups, including hunters, anglers, birders, boaters, campers, hikers, and other outdoor enthusiasts.

The award recognizes Natchitoches Parish 4-H’s leadership in fostering a strong conservation ethic among Louisiana’s youth.
