
A multi-agency response to a hostage and barricade situation in the Cedar Grove Subdivision near Natchitoches concluded early this morning without injuries according to Sheriff Stuart Wright.
A Cloutierville man is now in custody following the incident, which began with a brief pursuit and alleged carjacking.
The incident started at approximately 9:22 PM on May 15 in the City of Natchitoches and ended around 4 AM on May 16 at a residence in the 100 block of Dogwood Court in the Cedar Grove Subdivision.
According to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Stuart Wright, the suspect barricaded himself inside a home, allegedly taking hostages. After several hours of negotiation and tactical operations, the situation was resolved peacefully, and all hostages were safely released without injury.

“Thanks to the coordinated efforts and professionalism of all involved agencies, we were able to bring this situation to a peaceful conclusion without harm to any civilians or officers,” said Sheriff Wright. “I commend our personnel and partners for their swift and effective response.”
