Three injured in single-vehicle crash in Kisatchie National Forest

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #4 and Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS responded to NATCOM 911 Center reports of a single-vehicle crash with injuries, one being a possible ejection, on May 25 around 8:03 pm on Kisatchie Bayou Camp Road in the Kisatchie National Forest near Kisatchie according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrived on scene finding 3 males and a female suffering from what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies say the preliminary investigation revealed that a 22-year old Natchitoches man operating a 2004 Chevrolet pickup was traveling southbound on Kisatchie Bayou Camp Road, a dirt gravel road, when he entered a curve. For reasons still under investigation, the driver lost control of the vehicle exiting the road on the right side. The vehicle continued to travel off the road, overturning coming to a rest against a pine tree.

The driver and two other male passengers, ages, 19, and 21, were transported from the scene by EMS to a regional trauma center with non-life threatening injuries.

The 22-year-old female passenger was treated at the scene by EMS and released without transport.

NPSO Lt. B. Smith is investigating the crash and traveling to the trauma center to interview the driver and passengers to gather additional details of the crash.
