Lakeview AFJROTC cadets complete rigorous Summer Leadership Course

Four cadets from Lakeview Junior/Senior High School successfully completed the week-long Bossier Parish Cadet Leadership Course, a physically and mentally demanding summer program that brought together students from across Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.

Cadets Brody Guin, Laryah Hubbard, Landon Nealy, and Peyton Sanders represented Lakeview’s AFJROTC program (LA-943) in the intensive 7-day course. Each day began at 5 a.m. with reveille and physical training, followed by a full schedule of seminars and team-building events. Cadets learned water survival techniques, explored career pathways, completed an obstacle course, and rappelled down a tower—activities designed to develop resilience, leadership, and confidence.

Returning to the program as a Cadet Training Officer was Lakeview graduate Emy Sorto-Cortez, who played a key role in mentoring new cadets. For her leadership and performance, Sorto-Cortez was named the Top Cadet Training Officer—ranking first among 20 peers.

Lakeview’s AFJROTC program congratulated all participating cadets for their commitment, discipline, and outstanding representation of their school.
