
The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred early Sunday morning on Keyser Avenue.
Natchitoches Police Department officers, deputies with the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office and troopers with the Louisiana State Police responded to the 300 block of Keyser Avenue on July 6 around 1:41 a.m. after hearing gunshots in the area. Upon officers, deputies and troopers arrival they located six victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers on scene immediately began to render aid while other first responders were arriving to the area. One of the victims, Latravion Stallworth (B/M, 18 y.o.a. of Natchitoches), was pronounced deceased by the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office as a result of his injuries.
The other five victims were transported to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center. Three of the victims that were transported were released earlier this morning from the hospital. The other two victims were referred to hospitals in Caddo Parish and Rapides Parish where they are listed in stable condition.
Investigators and officers canvassed the crime scene and were able to speak with several witnesses. They also collected numerous pieces of evidence that will be sent to the crime lab for analysis.
This investigation is ongoing and the Natchitoches Police Department will release more details as they become available.
