Award Recipients:
Sgt. Carlos D. Halliburton – Drug Enforcement Bureau
Deputy Thurman Miller Jr. – Patrol Operations Bureau
In March 2025, during a mass shooting near Clarence involving over 3,000 people and multiple victims, Sgt. Halliburton and Deputy Miller responded swiftly to the chaotic scene. Demonstrating courage and determination, they located a gunshot victim and carried him by foot through the dense crowd to safety. Their quick action ensured the victim received life-saving medical attention.
Deputy Kim Green – Communications Operations / 911 Center
Deputy Green leads with compassion, professionalism, and integrity. She fosters a positive and effective environment within the 911 Center, where dispatchers feel valued and supported. Her unwavering commitment to the safety of both citizens and first responders is an inspiration, and her guiding principle—“Everyone goes home”—is a promise she lives by every day.
Deputy Jessica Beaudion – Administration Bureau / Human Resources
In January, Deputy Beaudion assumed responsibility for nearly all HR functions, including payroll, benefits, recruiting, and more. Her dedication and focus ensured the continued smooth operation of vital administrative services. Her efforts exemplify the behind-the-scenes excellence that supports the entire department.
“These awards reflect the strength and character of our team,” said Sheriff Wright. “Each recipient has shown tremendous effort and care in their work, and we’re proud to recognize their accomplishments.”
