The Calico Belles, a local service organization for young women in grades 7-12, will hold their next meeting on Sunday, Aug. 10 at 1 p.m. at the historic Lemee House, located at 310 Jefferson Street. Attendees are asked to enter through the side gate.
Sponsored by the Association for the Preservation of Historic Natchitoches (APHN), the Calico Belles are dedicated to serving the Natchitoches Parish community through volunteer work and participation in efforts focused on historic preservation. Members also act as ambassadors for the City of Natchitoches at a variety of civic and cultural events.
APHN leadership believes that youth engagement and community involvement are essential to preserving the area’s rich heritage and culture. The Calico Belles program aims to instill a sense of pride, leadership, and service in its members while fostering a deeper connection to local history.
Anyone interested in learning more about the organization but unable to attend the meeting may contact Erica Outlaw at calicobelles@gmail.com for additional information.
