The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office Impact Unit recently arrested a Natchitoches man wanted on multiple outstanding warrants in both Louisiana and Texas according to Sheriff Stuart Wright.
Deputies were patrolling within Natchitoches city limits on July 11 when they stopped a 2012 Buick for operating without headlights near the intersection of Texas and 6th Streets.
Upon identifying the driver as 39-year-old Denies R. Evans Jr. of Natchitoches, a warrants check revealed that Evans was wanted by the 10th Judicial District Court in Natchitoches for failure to appear.
Evans was taken into custody without incident and transported to the LaSalle Corrections/Natchitoches Detention Center. He is charged with:
One count of Failure to Appear on May 27, 2025 for Probation Review, Resisting an Officer, and Battery on a Police Officer
One count of Failure to Appear on May 27, 2025 for Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance
Further investigation through the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) revealed that Evans was also wanted by the St. Augustine County, Texas Sheriff’s Office for Failure to Appear in April 2025 on a Controlled Substance Possession charge.
Evans remains in custody on local charges with a hold for extradition to Texas. The vehicle he was driving was released to a passenger at the scene.
