Lions Club hears from St. Vincent de Paul Society on local service, volunteer needs

Natchitoches Lions Club members learned about St. Vincent de Paul Society, Natchitoches during its most recent program meeting. St. Vincent de Paul, like the Lions Club, is an international organization.

There are approximately 800,000 members globally and the non-profit organization was founded in 1833. The Natchitoches group serves over 160 neighbors a year and completed an astonishing 600 service hours last year alone. Each volunteer strives to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus by helping any way possible.

The group of dedicated volunteers help with material and financial needs, but also encourage and assist with economic education. They are currently seeking volunteers as well as donations of daily living needs, such as staple food, hygiene and cleaning items; plus more. Message their Facebook page for specifics.
