Robeline readies for Festival weekend with new signage, local talent search

By Courtney Freeman

The Robeline Heritage Society was excited to see our main sign go up on the side of the Heritage building. Many times we’re asked when the festival will be. We don’t pick a date like some festivals do, we’ve always just had it on the 1st weekend in October whatever days that may be.

While ahead of our Sept. 1 deadline our sponsorship signs went up also. We struck while the iron was hot and we had help for the construction of the framework. We’re also thankful as more sponsors are purchasing signs to be added. If you would like to join the sponsors contact Frances Walker 318-581-6489 and Courtney Freeman-318-354-7019. The Heritage Society would also like to announce the main entertainment for Saturday night is The Ryan Matthew band.

We’re also still looking for local talent to be a part of Robeline’s Got Talent on Saturday night of the festival. If you’re interested please contact Courtney Stoker 318-602-8682 and Frances Walker 318-581-6489.

Many commuters and locals have noticed that the Sabine clinic had finally advanced to the stage of needing a temporary door. Which to me signaled we were on the downhill side of the project. And after checking that assumption out, I can share the estimated completion is October. Maybe everything will fall into place and it can be open by festival weekend. I know that’s very wishful thinking. But barring any major issues we should have a local clinic before the holidays and cold/flu season. And for that I am thankful.
