
A major crash on La. Hwy. 6 East at La. Hwy. 486 near Clarence on Sept. 7 resulted in multiple injuries and a significant traffic delay, according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The collision occurred around 5:30 p.m. and involved two vehicles. Responding agencies included Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, Louisiana State Police, Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS, Red River Parish EMS, Advanced Ambulance Service from Winn Parish, and Natchitoches Parish Fire Districts 9 and 3, both equipped with extrication tools.
Six people were reported injured, with conditions ranging from non-life-threatening to serious. Three medical air support helicopters were dispatched to the scene to assist with patient transport.
The roadway was blocked for several hours, causing extended delays for drivers traveling through the area.
