Rotary welcomes new members, features economic talk, promotes animal welfare events

Rotarian Drake Owens welcomed two new Rotary members, Ken Bostian and Dr. Greg Handel at the September 23 meeting.

Rotarian with the Program Josh Manuel presented LSUA College of Economics Professor Randall Dupont who summarized the 2020-2025 economic development for Natchitoches Parish.

In addition, Pearl Walker and Juanita Murphy made a brief announcement about “The Cruelty Connection: Animal Abuse and Human Violence” event on Oct. 14 at 6 p.m. in the NSU Friedman Student Union Ballroom. The event is part of National Vet Tech Week, Oct. 12-18.

Guest Speakers are Dr. Herman Soong, MD Tulane University School of Medicine and The Honorable Hillar Moore, District Attorney for East Baton Rouge Parish. Also, on Oct. 15 there will be a Farm to Table Dinner to support Friends All United for Natchitoches Animals (FAUNA). For more information go to npfauna.org or phone 318-471-8090.
