Young at Heart Club holds October luncheon

The monthly Young at Heart luncheon for seniors was held on Oct. 1 at the First United Methodist Church.

Ed Huey, music educator and inductee of the NSU Hall of Master Folk Artists, treated everyone to a one-man show featuring his mastery of the harmonica.

October birthdays were celebrated by Cyril Moreland and Preston Durr. Harvey and Judy Polk celebrated their October wedding anniversary.

Harvey Polk served as Master of Ceremonies, and Pastor Gary Willis offered a prayer before the meal. The church’s Grace Circle provided autumn table decorations.

Young at Heart meets the first Wednesday of each month at 11 AM in Bostick Hall at the church (enter through doors under the bell tower). The meeting is non-denominational, and all community seniors are welcome to come and enjoy the entertainment, food, and fellowship. Attendees are asked to pay a $5 fee or to bring a covered dish to share. The next meeting is scheduled for November 5.
