Natchitoches celebrated National Night Out in grand style on Oct. 7. There were celebrations throughout the city and surrounding area. The events were Natchitoches’ version of the Nationwide National Night Out in which citizens are encouraged to get to know one another better in a fun, neighborly atmosphere.
The city’s events featured games for the children, music and fellowship. The Night Out is also an opportunity for citizens, area children, elected officials, police and first responders to meet each other and get to know each other over delicious food. Sparky the Fire Dog, Ash the Alligator and McGruff the Crime Dog were all on hand to play with the children.
