Goldonna News: Veterans Day Program planned for November 8

By Reba Phelps

The Village of Goldonna will be honoring Veterans with the Second Annual Veterans Day Program to be held at the Goldonna Elementary School Auditorium on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 10 am.

Organizer, Larry McGee, shared that the morning will be kicked off with refreshments in the auditorium lobby at 9:15. This year’s keynote speaker will be retired Colonel Ronald Johnson, Veteran of World War II. Goldonna Assembly of God Pastor, Timmy Harris, will also be sharing his experiences. Mr. Bob Dieter will be the musical guest of the morning with the closing prayer being offered by River of Life Pastor, George Procell. Once the program has concluded the guests of the program will be able to pick up flags to carry to the Goldonna Cemetary to place on the graves of family and Veterans.

“This program has been a complete team effort,” says McGee. “Everyone came together to decorate, clean the auditorium, trim the hedges and even power wash in some areas, we want our Veterans to feel honored and proud to be visiting in Goldonna.”

Organizers want to invite the public, from all communities, to come out and enjoy the beauty of Goldonna on a Fall Day. They want to share in their love and respect of Veterans who fought to give our country and other countries the freedoms they enjoy today.
