THE PLAN:
The strategy for Consolidated District No. 11 Improvements is to address real needs at the Provencal campus in a responsible manner to enhance the facilities and learning environment for the students. As outlined inside this brochure, the program includes long-term improvements with an emphasis on:
- Necessary new construction, additions, repairs and upgrades to the buildings at the Provencal Elementary/Junior High campus.
- Upgrades to physical education, activity and athletics facilities to benefit the students and community.
THE ELECTION:
The November 15th, 2025 Election consists of One (1) Proposition:
- The Proposition is to fund $12,545,000 in 20-Year General Obligation Bonds for the purpose of making the outlined School improvements. The estimated funding for this proposal is an initial levy of 15 mills.
On Saturday November 15th, 2025, the citizens of Natchitoches Parish Consolidated School District No. 11 will have the opportunity to vote on a proposition that is vital to the future of all Provencal students. The proposition focuses on necessary renovations and new construction at Provencal Elementary/Junior High School to provide adequate space and an enhanced educational experience for its students.
THE NEEDS:
The Provencal School is in need of major capital improvements that maintenance funding simply cannot address. Generally, these needs are:
- The shingle and metal roof on the existing main building is in poor condition and needs replacing with a long-term roof.
- The air-conditioning and heating systems in the main building are worn out and difficult to maintain.
- The Cafeteria dining space is small which impacts the school schedule due to extended feeding times. Also, there is no dedicated office space for staff.
- There are no student restrooms on the “A” wing of the main building, which makes for a long trip to available facilities.
- There is no School Nurse’s area near the office.
- There are not enough classrooms for any population growth.
- There are not any facilities for Band or Orchestra on campus.
- The old Gymnasium is in desperate need of repairs and re-roofing.
- The ballfield facility needs major upgrades to lighting, scoreboard, dugouts, backstop and spectator areas.
- The football practice area needs to be upgraded.
- Additional and replacement athletic and playground equipment is needed.
