The monthly Young at Heart luncheon for seniors was held November 5 at First United Methodist Church, bringing together community members for an afternoon of food, music, and fellowship.
Entertainment was provided by The Back Porch Band, whose performance featured a blend of Gospel, Popular, and Country music. The group concluded their set with familiar favorites including “Danny Boy,” “Sixteen Tons,” and “Keep on the Sunny Side.”
Stephanie Kautz was recognized during the event in celebration of her November birthday. Harvey Polk served as Master of Ceremonies, and Pastor Gary Willis offered the opening prayer before the meal. Festive fall-themed table decorations were prepared by the church’s Faith Circle.
Young at Heart meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 11 a.m. in Bostick Hall, with entry through the doors under the bell tower. The non-denominational gathering is open to all community seniors, who are invited to enjoy lunch, entertainment, and fellowship. Attendees are asked to contribute a $5 fee or bring a covered dish to share.
The next Young at Heart meeting is scheduled for December 3.
