Kiwanis Club Welcomes Chief Deputy Steve Pezant as Guest Speaker

The Kiwanis Club of Natchitoches held its weekly meeting on Nov. 6, led by club secretary Craig Caskey, who welcomed Chief Deputy Steve Pezant of the Natchitoches Ward One City Marshal’s Office as guest speaker.

Chief Deputy Pezant shared insight into the duties of a Deputy Marshal and reflected on his 35-year career in law enforcement, which has included service with the Pike County (MS) Sheriff’s Office, the Louisiana State Police, and the Natchitoches Ward One City Marshal’s Office.

He also spoke about his recent honor of being named National Deputy Marshal of the Year by the National Constables and Marshals Association during the 2025 President’s Awards Banquet held in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The national recognition highlights outstanding service, professionalism, and leadership within the law enforcement community.

A Northwestern State University alumnus, Chief Deputy Pezant has served the citizens of Natchitoches Parish for 33 of his 35 years in law enforcement. He was promoted to Chief Deputy in 2021 for his continued dedication and leadership.

The Kiwanis Club congratulates Chief Deputy Pezant on this well-deserved honor and thanks him for his many years of service to the community.
