The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office assisted U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Wednesday morning, Nov. 19, during an apprehension operation off La. Hwy 3278 near Natchitoches.
According to NPSO, ICE agents requested support as they attempted to take two individuals into custody. During the operation, the subjects fled the area in a white Ford F-250 truck pulling a trailer loaded with lawn equipment. A brief, slow-speed pursuit moved through the Oak Grove community before the vehicle stopped on La. Hwy 504 near La. Hwy 1.
One individual was detained at the scene. The second suspect fled on foot, prompting a joint search by Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, the Natchitoches Police Department, and ICE agents. The individual was later located and taken into custody.
Both subjects were turned over to ICE. Officials say any additional information regarding the case will come from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Authorities confirmed the scene has been cleared.
