
Northwestern State University’s Eta Mu chapter of Phi Beta Delta, the honor society for international scholars, hosted a fall induction program Nov. 16. New members are Santiago Tobon Cardona and Maria Camilla Valencia Gonzalez of Pereira, Colombia; Salome Aristizabal Aguirre of Santa Rosa de Cabal, Colombia; Shae Wetzel of Pitkin, the chapter’s first student vice president; Tatiana Wing Lam Wu of Cartagena, Colombia, and Katherine Clary, Angee Mariana Bedoya Rivera and Shakera Williams, all of Natchitoches.
Phi Beta Delta supports universities by promoting international education, acknowledging academic achievement and encouraging a global outlook among faculty, students and staff. The Eta Mu chapter offers lectures, study abroad panels and scholarships for NSU students seeking to enhance their international education and academic experiences in another country.
Founded in 1986, Phi Beta Delta is the first honor society dedicated to recognizing scholarly achievement in international education. With hundreds of chapters worldwide, the society connects students, faculty and staff who have demonstrated a strong dedication to international awareness and academic excellence.
