Natchitoches Junior High’s JAG members recently welcomed Georgette Waters, representative of The Good Food Project, as a guest speaker. Waters visited the campus to educate the members about sustainable gardening and to support the launch of JAG’s garden initiative at the school’s newest location.
During her presentation, Waters shared practical information about soil health, plant selection, and the importance of growing food responsibly. She highlighted how sustainable gardening practices can benefit communities by improving access to fresh produce and encouraging healthier lifestyles.
The visit marks an exciting step toward establishing the school’s new JAG garden, which will provide the members with hands-on learning experiences throughout the year.
Natchitoches Junior High JAG is thrilled to partner with the Good Food Project and is grateful for Waters’ guidance as we prepare to begin this meaningful project. The JAG members look forward to watching the garden grow and to the educational opportunities it will bring to the NJH campus.
