Mutual aid units respond to structure fire in Payne subdivision

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #6, and mutual-aid units from Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #9 were dispatched by the NATCOM 911 Center on Dec. 2 around 12:31 pm to reports of a structure fire in the 100 block of John Drive in the Payne subdivision off Hwy. 6 near Natchitoches, according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Upon arrival, deputies and fire personnel discovered the structure fully involved. The residence was determined to be a total loss.

The origin and cause of the fire remain undetermined at this time. Deputies say that, while speaking with residents in the area, they learned the home was currently under renovation and unoccupied.

There were no injuries reported.

Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #6 is continuing its investigation into the cause of the fire.
