Roadwork on LA 117, 0.5 Mile South of Bellwood to LA 120, set to begin December 8

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that on Monday, Dec. 8 construction will begin on LA 117 in Natchitoches Parish. This work will begin 0.5 miles south of Bellwood and continue North until the intersection of LA 117 and LA 120.

The intent of this project is to patch, mill and overlay the existing pavement structure of LA 117 with 3.5 inches of superpave asphaltic concrete. Associated work includes pavement widening, new permanent striping, replacing existing guardrail on bridges, and other related work.

The project was awarded to the low bidder, Madden Contracting Co., LLC, in the amount of $8,459,366.15. The work associated with this project should took approximately 180 working days to complete. Thru traffic will be maintained at all times but periodic lane closures and delays can be expected. The public is advised to remain alert to construction signs and changing roadway conditions.

Permit/Detour section
Oversize and emergency vehicles will be allowed passage. There will be no detour routes for this project.
