Commercial truck overturns on Highway 6 in Robeline

Emergency crews responded early this morning to an overturned commercial vehicle hauling lumber on Louisiana Highway 6 West within the town limits of Robeline.

According to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched on Jan. 5 at approximately 3:05 a.m. after NATCOM 911 received reports of a commercial truck overturned on the roadway. Initial callers indicated the driver may have been trapped inside the wreckage.

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, Robeline Police, Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #7, NPSO Rescue, and Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS all responded to the scene. Fire District #7 and NPSO Rescue personnel worked together using extrication equipment to safely free the driver from the vehicle.

The driver sustained minor, non-life-threatening injuries and declined transport by EMS. Authorities confirmed the overturned truck and its lumber load were moved off the roadway.

Louisiana Highway 6 remains open; however, the scene is still active, and crews are continuing cleanup operations. Officials warn that it may take several hours to fully clear the wreckage and spilled load. Motorists traveling through the area are urged to drive carefully and avoid distractions.
