Weather outlook: Rainy end to the week brings cooler temperatures to Natchitoches Parish

Natchitoches Parish residents can expect a mix of mild temperatures, increasing rain chances, and a noticeable cool-down as the week progresses, according to the latest forecast.

Wednesday will begin mostly cloudy before skies gradually clear by the afternoon. High temperatures are expected in the mid-70s, with light winds becoming southerly later in the day. Cloud cover will increase again Wednesday night, with lows near 60 degrees and gusty south winds developing after midnight.

Cloudy conditions will dominate Thursday, bringing a 40 percent chance of showers throughout the day.

Highs will remain in the mid-70s, but winds will strengthen from the south at 10 to 15 mph, with gusts reaching up to 25 mph. Rain chances continue into Thursday night as temperatures fall into the mid-60s.

Friday is expected to be the wettest day of the week, with showers likely and a chance of thunderstorms developing from morning into the afternoon. Rain chances climb to 80 percent, with highs again in the mid-70s. Showers and possible thunderstorms will persist into Friday night as much cooler air moves in, dropping overnight lows into the upper 40s.

Conditions begin to improve Saturday, though skies will remain mostly cloudy with a slight chance of lingering morning showers. Temperatures will be significantly cooler, with afternoon highs in the upper 50s and overnight lows falling into the upper 30s.

Sunday will stay mostly cloudy and cool, with highs in the mid-50s and nighttime lows dipping into the lower 30s. The cool trend continues into Monday, with partly cloudy skies in the morning becoming mostly cloudy by the afternoon and highs remaining in the mid-50s.

Residents are advised to plan for wet conditions late in the week and prepare for colder mornings over the weekend and early next week.
