Lane Closure: J.C. Deblieux Drive on January 19

The City of Natchitoches announces the closure of the outside (southbound) travel lane on J.C. Deblieux Drive, beginning on Monday, January 19, 2026.

This lane closure will help to expedite completion of the concrete pavement replacement work on this street that has been ongoing for the past several weeks.

While the previous work has involved the closure of isolated sections of J.C. Deblieux Drive, the upcoming lane closure will involve virtually the entire length of this street, with two-way traffic being maintained by providing southbound motorists with intermittent short sections of pavement into which they can pull over when yielding to oncoming traffic.

Following the completion of all remaining work located within the southbound travel lane, this lane will be re-opened to traffic while pavement replacement work commences in the inside (northbound) travel lane.

As the remaining pavement replacement work is being completed, access to concrete parking areas may be temporarily disrupted, so residents are asked to find an adjacent location in which to park their vehicle while the new concrete pavement is being constructed and cured.

Implementation of this new temporary traffic control plan is expected to reduce the remaining construction time on this street from several weeks to approximately three weeks. During this time, motorists are asked to please be patient and to exercise caution when traveling through this work zone.

This work is being funded through the Louisiana Community Development Block Grant program, and the contractor is Regional Construction, LLC, of Natchitoches.
