The Natchitoches Parish School Board has introduced a new monthly recognition program highlighting outstanding employees across the district.
While the district has traditionally recognized weekly All-Stars, the new All-Stars of the Month feature will spotlight two staff members from one school each month — one teacher and one support staff member. Principals are asked to nominate team members who represent their schools with pride, passion and dedication.
The inaugural spotlight school is Provencal Elementary & Jr. High, led by Principal Diana Curtis.
Yanci Borel, a junior high science teacher, was selected as the school’s teacher honoree. Borel has 12 years of experience in education, including three years at Provencal. District officials noted her strong commitment to her students and her enthusiasm for teaching.
Megan Herring, a tutor and DESS paraprofessional, was recognized as the school’s support staff honoree. Herring has served at Provencal for seven years and is currently working toward her bachelor’s degree and certification in elementary and special education. Officials highlighted her dedication to students and her contributions to the school community.
District leaders said the new monthly recognition program is designed to celebrate the individuals who help make each campus successful while representing the values of the school system.
