Meet Heidi, our happy little miracle girl!
On Christmas Day, someone shared a heartbreaking photo on Facebook of a severely emaciated dog chained to a tree with no shelter, food, or water. Her condition was so dire that she was seized, and her owner was charged with cruelty.
Thanks to FAUNA and her incredible foster mom, Hannah, Heidi’s recovery has been nothing short of amazing. Hannah tells us that Heidi seems so happy to have left her painful past behind. Now her tail hardly ever stops wagging, and she wakes up excited for each new day!
Heidi is an adorable 2-3 year old terrier mix with striking blue eyes and the cutest ears that look more like a piggy than a pup. She loves playing with toys and cuddling with her people. Her foster mom says she can go from bursts of playful zoomies to snoring on the couch in mere seconds. If Heidi had her way, she’d sleep right on top of you, but she’s just as happy being close by.
She already knows how to sit, is completely housetrained, and loves everyone she meets. Heidi also enjoys the company of other dogs and would love a home with a playful dog friend.
After everything she’s been through, Heidi chooses joy every day. Now she’s just waiting to find her forever family and begin the next happy chapter of her life.
