The City of Natchitoches has announced a temporary closure of Texas Street (LA-1 Business route) on Wednesday, March 25 for emergency sewer repairs.
The closure will begin at 8 a.m. at the 1539 address and will affect all traffic through the work zone. Officials said the repair work is expected to last one day.
During the closure, southbound through traffic will be detoured via the LA-1 Bypass. Northbound through traffic will be redirected using LA-6 Business routes, including Front Street and Washington Street, as well as the LA-6 North Bypass. Local traffic will be able to access the area using nearby city streets.
City officials are asking motorists to plan ahead and allow for additional travel time while detours are in place. The public is encouraged to use caution in surrounding areas and follow posted detour signage.
