NPSO Deputies arrest Powhatan man on Felony Drug Charges during Sunday morning

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Powhatan man on felony drug charges during a traffic stop in the City of Natchitoches on Sunday morning according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

On Sunday morning May 17th at approximately 9:30am, Deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol Division were on College Avenue in Natchitoches, La., when they stopped a 1997 Chevrolet Silverado for a traffic violation.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Douglas R. Cloud, 56, of the 100 block of La. Hwy 485, Natchitoches, La.

During the traffic stop, deputies learned that Cloud’s drivers license was suspended.

Deputies contacted a local wrecker service to impound the vehicle and during a inventory of the vehicle seized suspected crystal methamphetamine, twelve suspected clonazepan narcotic pills, twenty-one suspected hydrocodone narcotic pills and drug paraphernalia.

Cloud was transported and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with Possession of CDS Schedule II Methamphetamine, Illegal Possession of CDS II Hydrocodone,  Illegal Possession of CDS IV Clonazepan and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving under Suspension and traffic offenses.

Cloud was released on $16,000 bond on Monday evening.
