NPSO Deputies Attempting to Identify “Persons of Interest” Throwing Rocks

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies are attempting to identify  “persons of interest” responsible for throwing rocks off of the railroad tracks just south of the Chevron station on La. Hwy 1-South in the  South Town area according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Several  weeks ago, NPSO Deputies in a marked patrol unit were traveling northbound on La. Hwy 1 just south of the Chevron, when a group of individuals threw a large rock striking the patrol unit.

The unit’s in-car mobile video camera was able to capture some of the incident.

After throwing the rock, the individuals ran into the nearby sub-divison.   Deputies were unable to locate them while canvassing the area.

On Saturday evening between 9pm & 10pm, a female and her family were traveling southbound on La. Hwy 1 in the same area when someone threw a rock striking her vehicle shattering her window sending glass into her vehicle.

According to the complaint, she was so frightened she thought someone had fired a weapon at her.

Natchitoches Police Department responded to the scene.

NPSO Deputies and Natchitoches Police are investigating both incidents.
