NPSO: Family members arrested in connection with assisting Natchitoches Detention Center escapee Davantay Metoyer

Natchitoches SWAT, Natchitoches Multi-jurisdictional Drug Task Force agents, Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies and Natchitoches Police have arrested three more people in connection with assisting Natchitoches Detention Center escapee Davantay Metoyer following his escape according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Metoyer who is still on the run escaped from the Natchitoches Detention Center on Saturday afternoon August 8th at approximately 1:08pm.

On Monday evening, Natchitoches SWAT assisted by Natchitoches Multi-jurisdictional Drug Task Force agents, Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies and Natchitoches Police executed three search warrants signed by a Tenth Judicial District Court Judge on Dixie Street, and Grave Avenue within the city limits of Natchitoches and Sorgee Road near Natchitoches, La. looking for the escapee or evidence connected to him.

As a result of investigation, agents developed sufficient evidence and probable cause to arrest three suspects believed to have been in contact and assisted Metoyer since his escape.

As a result, arrested were:

*Brena Metoyer, 43, (Mother of escapee)  of the 1400 block of Grace Avenue, Natchitoches, La., transported and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with Accessory after the Fact to Simple Escape.

*Laketra D. Hamilton, 21, (Girlfriend of escapee) of the 100 block of Sorgee Road, Natchitoches, La., transported and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with Accessory after the Fact to Simple Escape.

*Ricky D. Metoyer, 20,  (Brother of escapee) of the 1400 block of Grace Avenue, Natchitoches, La., transported and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with Accessory  after the Fact to Simple Escape.

All three remain in the Natchitoches Detention Center awaiting bond.

Three other Natchitoches residents were arrested earlier this month who allegedly assisted Metoyer following his escape.

Metoyer is wanted for Simple Escape, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by a Person convicted of a Felony, Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property, Possession of a Firearm in a School  Zone and Probation Violation.

Metoyer is  considered dangerous as the search continues.

Deputies say they spoke with family members following the escape requesting their assistance.

Deputies also warned the public if they assisted Metoyer in anyway after his escape they were subject to arrest for assisting escape.

An All Points Bulletin has been issued along with Metoyer being placed in the National Crime Information Center database as a wanted person.
