The Natchitoches Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division has announced the arrest of a suspect in connection to the shooting which claimed the life of seventeen (17) year old, Demarcus Pye of 318 Powell St. Pye was shot on Monday, September 7,2015 (Labor Day) and later died as a result of the gunshot wound he had sustained.
Throughout the course of the investigation detectives stated that they were able to establish various facts that a juvenile had perpetrated the shooting. As a result of their investigation, detectives advised that they arrested a fourteen (14) old juvenile on one count of LA R.S. 14:32.A Negligent Homicide, R.S. 14:69.1 Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm, R.S. 14:95.8 Illegal Possession of a Firearm by a Juvenile. The juvenile was later transported to the Ware Youth Detention Center.
The Natchitoches Police Department would also like to thank the overwhelming support received from the community in assisting detectives in investigating and locating the suspected shooter of Demarcus Pye.

This is truly a sad situation for both families because each side has lost a loved one.One family has loss their love one thur death and the other because of the action he has done. Its just so sad that our youth are heading in such a horrible direction.
