The St. Mary’s Tigers were given a rousing sendoff to their journey to play Ascension Episcopal in Lafayette Friday 11/28/15 in the 2015 LHSAA semi-finals. Loyal Tiger fans and families packed the visitor’s side of the stadium, overflowing into standing room only along the side of the fence. The visiting Tigers, a three hour drive away, nonetheless more than matched the hosting Blue Gators in the number of fans. In terms of school spirit, it wasn’t even close. The St. Mary’s cheerleaders were constantly in motion while the crowd kept up a steady drumbeat of support. The Ascension announcer had to ask their crowd several times to make more noise. The St. Mary’s crown didn’t have to be told. The Tigers emerged victorious 49-42. The Tigers will face Southern Lab December 4th at 10:00 a.m. in the Louisiana Superdome. On to the Dome!
