Natchitoches Parish President Rick Nowlin announces that the Natchitoches Parish Landfill, located at 4597 Hwy. 1 North, will be closed between the hours of 7:00 and 9:00 AM on Friday, March 4, 2016.

The temporary closure is to allow Progressive Waste Solutions to conduct a mandatory company-wide Safety Stand-Down with its employees.

The Parish of Natchitoches contracts with Progressive for the operation of the scales and transfer station at the Parish Landfill.

In a February 25, 2016, letter to Progressive’s customers, Louisiana Area Manager Bruce Emley explains, “This Safety Stand-Down reinforces our commitment to the safety of our employees, our customers and the communities we serve.”

Following the Safety Stand-Down, the Landfill will resume its regular operating hours.
