On Wednesday, March 9, 2016, Natchitoches Parish President Rick Nowlin declared a State of Emergency due to the extreme wet weather conditions that are causing flooding throughout the Parish.

All Parish government offices are closed today. The operational status of Parish offices on Friday, March 11th, will be announced later.

All persons are requested to observe all directives of the Parish Office of Emergency Operations and to cooperate with all agencies who are trying to protect both lives and property.

Unless it is absolutely necessary, the Parish asks all persons to avoid driving, especially on rural, less traveled roads. If you must travel, please exercise caution and keep it slow.
