On Monday afternoon, Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor Jones Jr. was briefed by the La. Department of Transportation and Development, along with the Cane River Levee Board concerning the levee near Chivalry Dam on La. Hwy 1226 near Clarence, La.

According to La. DOTD and the Cane River Levee Board, at this point there is no imminient danger of a levee breach.

No levees in Natchitoches Parish are in danger of a breach at this time.

In the event of an emergency, a CodeRed Alert will be sent out by the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office to all residents in the demographical area of the emergency.
