NSU Jazz Orchestra

The NSU Jazz Orchestra presented a concert this past Wednesday at Magale Recital Hall on campus under the leadership of Conductor Galindo Rodriguez. The students in the orchestra were joined by guest trumpet soloist Graham Breedlove of The Army Blues Jazz Ensemble, United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own”. Master Sergeant Breedlove is a native of Lafayette and a graduate of LSU who grew up spending summers with relatives along the Cane River.
The orchestra performed a medley of pieces in their trademark smooth style. Graham Breedlove performed several solos and showed off his Louisiana roots with a composition he wrote titled “Bayou Farewell”
The NSU School of Creative and Performing Arts and the Jazz Orchestra are some of the things that make living in Natchitoche so rewarding.
