The Natchitoches Parish Library is showing our appreciation for our patrons during National Library Week, April 11 – 15.
During National Library Week, patrons will have the opportunity to replace their old library cards free of charge. Patrons can also return overdue library books during National Library Week without being charged a fine.
On April 11, the library will visit Walmart from 12 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Patrons will have the opportunity to sign up for library cards, as well as obtain more information about the services the library provides. Face painting and balloons will also be offered to anyone who stops by to learn of the many services and materials the library provides. On April 13, patrons are welcome to stop by the Northeast branch of the Natchitoches Parish Library for face painting, balloons, and to learn more about the services and materials offered there. The library is located at 3129 Highway 71 in Campti, LA.
On April 14, the library will visit Brookshire’s grocery store, located on the Hwy. 1 bypass from 12 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Face painting and balloons will also be available for anyone interested in learning more about the library’s many services and materials. Also, on April 15, at 6 p.m., the library will host an ice cream party for children who are signed up.
First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation’s libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. All types of libraries – school, public, academic and special – participate.
