Christi and Allen, managers of Broadmoor Brookshires, present Beth Cole of the Cane River Food Pantry a gift card of over $400 to spend on groceries for the food pantry. They support the local food pantry with empty boxes for the volunteers to fill for pick up from the pantry to qualified recipients on second Saturdays. The pantry is on Daniel, off Cecilia drive to the Detention center off the bypass. The pantry has volunteers from First Methodist, Presbyterian, Baptist, Catholic and other groups in town. To apply to receive food, the family must make less than $18,000 annually and have proof of income and residence. Boxes of 50# for a family or 25# for a single resident are available from 8-11 AM second Saturdays. Call 356-0646 for info.
