Northwestern State University will begin offering aquatics programming soon with the pool at the NSU Recreation Complex set to open April 19.
A lifeguard course will begin April 19 that is open to the community for new certification and renewals. The course will begin at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 19 at a cost of $250 for new certification and $100 for renewals. Pool hours will be 2-6 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday in April and May. Beginning May 31, pool hours will be 2-7 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday. Email Davis at cindyd@nsula.edu or Hall Adams at adamsh@nsula.edu for information regarding membership.
Parent/child swim programming will be from 11-11:30 a.m. Tuesday-Friday the week of June 7 and June 14. The cost is $40 per week.
Adult learn-to-swim classes will be from 11-11:45 a.m. and 6-6:45 p.m. Tuesday-Friday the weeks of June 7 and June 14. The cost is $40 per week.
A junior lifeguard course will be held from 10 a.m.-noon Tuesday-Friday the weeks of June 14 and June 21. The cost for the two-week course is $100.
Learn-to-swim summer classes will begin at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Tuesday-Friday the weeks of May 31, June 7, June 14 and June 21. Private lessons, to be scheduled with the aquatics director are available the month of July for $75 per week.
Water exercise with an instructor will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday beginning May 31. The cost is $50 per month.
