After recent rains the lake reached 98.6 MSL (Sunday July 31, 2016). The lake is currently at 97.5 MSL and falling. (Friday August 5, 2016) Pool stage is 98.0 MSL. (5 tenths below pool stage) Once Lake Level reaches 97.0 MSL Washington Street and the Spillway landings will closed for safety reasons. Property Owners using these landing should start making preparations for boat removal, as the lake levels will continue to drop without significant rain. At 96.0 MSL the lake will closed to boating traffic (Ordinance 2 of 2011) and irrigation is restricted at 94.5 MSL. (Ordinance 3 of 2011)

Boat operators are asked to navigate carefully as there are obstructions above and below the waterline that can cause property damage to boat hulls, props, etc, and /or injury to water-skiers, tubers, etc.
Remember to boat safe, sober, and always wear your life jackets.

  1. Wow, so the residents on the lake and any boaters desiring to take advantage of this natural beauty will lose all privileges a full one and a half feet of water depth before any irrigation will be curtailed. Isn’t that interesting.

  2. When will the red River pumping station be utilized? Why was all that money spent if we can use our backyard?
