Two filmmakers will revisit Natchitoches for a screening of their documentary, “Less Traveled: A Journey from Pine to Palm” Saturday, Oct. 8 from 2-4 p.m. at the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame.

The documentary follows Josiah Laubenstein and Darrell Johnston, of Highway Walkers Media, on their trip down the Jefferson Highway. Starting in Winnipeg Canada and finishing in New Orleans, they make the 2,200 plus mile journey in a ’54 Dodge Royal. Focusing on the history, humor, and adventure of the road, this is a community-oriented film about a piece of history worth remembering.

Mayor Lee Posey presented the filmmakers with a proclamation during their stay in Natchitoches declaring June 1 as Drive the Jefferson Highway Day in the City of Natchitoches. This event is free and open to the public.
