The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that beginning Monday, Oct. 10, construction work will begin on La 117 between La 6 (Hagewood) and La 120 (Provencal). The work will consist of surfacing the roadway with skid resistant material. The project is expected to be completed in December. The roadway will be reduced to one lane periodically during construction. There will be a width restriction of 12 feet.

I just don’t understand why they are working on a stretch of road that is in great condition compared to the remainder of the road that is between Provencal and Anacoco. It is abysmal, I drive it everyday and the small stretch being worked on needs it far less than in Bellwood, Kisatchie, and everywhere in between.
I came through and a lady was sitting on the bed of a truck playing on a cell phone. We were nearly hit head on with cars attempting to go around them in a curve.
Can someone over this construction see that there is better flagging for traffic coming through and around the equipment before there is a terrible head on collision! There has already been a string of near misses and it’s only been started for a week or so!!!! There has been no flaggers with the machines scraping away the center lines and traffic just has to take a chance and go around. And the flaggers that have been flagging around whatever they are putting down must not be communicating with each other at all.
You are right I like to have hit someone from rear came around a curve and there they were stopped.need signs.
