Students tour Natchitoches and learn its history

Third grade students visited many historical places in Natchitoches Sept. 28. Amelia Ferguson’s class from Natchitoches Magnet School enjoyed their visit to Trinity Episcopal Church. Aziza Coutee and Tyler French, 8th grade Magnet students, portrayed characters that had a part in the church’s history.

Miss Neighbors class loved discussing all the historic pieces in the LA Sports Hall of Fame. They had an amazing tour guide who taught them so many things about Sports history. Students tried to figure out how the car got into the museum. They learned it was rolled through the front door!

One of the last stops was to the Roque House. Students listened to two of their own Magnet eighth graders. Josie Fontenot told them all about the different types of boats that came down the Mississippi River. Students also loved hearing the history of the Roque House that Andrea Chen told them all about.
